Johnny Jakobsen

CEO & Co-Founder

Johnny Jakobsen, CEO and Co-founder of FiberJoints, brings over 20 years of invaluable experience in working with composite materials. His expertise spans a wide range of areas, including composite failure, crack propagation, sandwich structures, and various composite manufacturing processes such as resin curing and fiber draping.

With a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Aalborg University, Johnny has established himself as a prominent figure in the field. After completing his Ph.D., he gained valuable industry experience in the wind turbine sector, where he contributed to advancing composite technology for renewable energy applications.

Driven by his passion for teaching and knowledge sharing, Johnny embarked on an academic career, holding positions such as Postdoc, Associate Professor, and Lab Manager. During this time, he dedicated himself to educating and preparing engineering students for the challenges they will face upon graduation, instilling in them a deep appreciation for the potential of composite materials.

Throughout his illustrious career, Johnny has collaborated with numerous industries, including wind turbines, aircraft, oil and gas, and transportation. His extensive knowledge and skills have been instrumental in solving complex engineering challenges, earning him a reputation as a trusted expert in the field. In 2019, Johnny joined forces with Benny Endelt, and together they initiated a collaboration focused on composite bolted joints. This partnership led to the development of the innovative reinforcing patch technology and the establishment of FiberJoints as a leading company in the composite industry.

Benny Ørtoft Endelt

CEO & Co-Founder

Benny Ørtoft Endelt, CEO and Co-founder of FiberJoints, is a distinguished expert in advanced nonlinear finite element simulations. With over two decades of experience, his research has focused on modeling and simulating complex nonlinear manufacturing processes, particularly metal-forming problems using LS-DYNA.

Benny holds a Master's degree in manufacturing engineering, where he developed a mathematical model of the human metabolic system and a feedback control system for an artificial pancreas. He pursued a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Aalborg University, focusing on metal forming simulation, non-linear optimization, constitutive modeling, and inverse problems.

Throughout his tenure at Aalborg University, Benny actively engaged in numerous research projects, showcasing his expertise in finite element simulations. His contributions encompassed a wide array of processes, including laser forming, welding simulations, impact peening, ultrasonic microforming, feedback control, constitutive modeling, and more. Benny's work has been reflected in scientific papers and patents, highlighting his valuable insights and innovative solutions.

Driven by curiosity and a passion for innovation, Benny seeks unconventional approaches to problems, pushing the boundaries of conventional methods. In 2019, Benny collaborated with Johnny Jakobsen on composite bolted joints, which led to the development of reinforcing patch technology and the establishment of FiberJoints.
